~Old Shoes~
1925
~Johnny Harron & Viora Daniel~
Widowed and left with a young son, Mary consented to marry her dead husband's brother, Joseph,
a harsh man whom she once rejected. She soon discovers that she still loves her dead husband--a
fact that prompts Joseph to inflict pain on his wife and stepson at every opportunity. When the boy
becomes a young man, he finally triumphs in a fight with his stepfather; the latter regains
consciousness, starts off to wreak revenge with a sabre, and angers a horse, which tramples him to
death.
