Based on the novel Anna Karénina by Leo Tolstoy (Moscow, 1876).
Anna Karenina, the wife of a Russian nobleman, falls in love with Vronsky, a
young officer, forfeiting her right to her child. Realizing her tragic fate and the
futility of her existence, she commits suicide by throwing herself in front of a
moving train.
