~Plot Synopsis~
Bob Carson works on the the Texas ranch of Colonel McCall, with
whose daughter, Jacqueline, he is in love. This romance evokes the
anger of her cousin, Ralston, who challenges Bob to a gun duel.
During the exchange of shots Ralston pretends to be shot, and Bob
runs away, eventually drifting to Pendleton, Oregon, in time for the
annual rodeo. There he gets into a fight with Kent Crosby, the
foreman of Mabel Thompson's big ranch, and knocks him out,
proceeding to ride a bucking broncho that has thrown all previous
riders. The two McCalls and Ralston come north for the rodeo and
meet Bob, who then learns of Ralston's ruse. Mabel realizes that Bob
loves Jacqueline and, in desperation, proposes to him. Bob turns her
down and is kidnaped by Ralston and Crosby, to keep him out of the
chariot race, but he escapes from his bonds just in time to drive
Mabel's team to a close victory. Ralston and Crosby are arrested by
the sheriff, and Jacqueline and Bob renew their romance.
