Blonde Gloria Grey played Gene Stratton-Porter's The Girl of the Limberlost in 1924. The role earned her
WAMPAS Baby Star honors that year but very little else. She did, however, suffer through Blake of
Scotland Yard, a particularly wretched action serial in which she chased a masked bandit through the
wilds of upper-class London and a back lot frozen tundra. Grey gave up her screen career shortly
thereafter to marry magazine writer Ramon Romero.
