~A product of the talkies in the comedy line, Stuart Irwin had a rapid rise to film success. Less than
a year after his first talking picture role, he was given a long-term contract. "Stew" is a California
product, having been born in Squaw Valley, about 50 miles from Fresno. After some time at the
Unversity of California, Erwin went on the stage. He made his talking debut in "The Exalted
Flapper," later making a hit in "Sweetie." He is 5 feet, 9 inches, weighs 165 pounds and has light hair
and grey eyes.~
